In this blog we are going to be sharing with you 6 things you can do while staying at home. We are all home right now due to the social distancing and after a while it can get boring. So we wanted to share with you a few things that will make you happy and feel good at home.
The first thing you can do is clean and organize.
And we don’t mean to sound like your mother and say clean your room, but we promise you that cleaning your house and cleaning your space will make you feel really good. All of us are spending so much time at home right now, so making sure that you take care of the space you’re going to be spending all of this time in, is super important. So spend time organizing your closet, clear out your desk area. If you work from home we highly recommend doing that so you feel clear and good while you are working from home.
The next would be to do some yoga or meditation.
If you are a total beginner to yoga and meditation, there are so many videos on YouTube and so many podcasts that you can follow. It’s really important right now to make sure that we are breathing and taking care of our mental health and our spiritual health. Many popular yoga studios are now streaming live classes free of charge.
Read a book or listen to an audiobook
When we read, not only are we improving memory and expand our vocabulary, but research has shown that it makes us feel better and more positive too. Science has shown that reading has some amazing health benefits, including helping with depression, cutting stress, and reducing the chances of developing Alzheimer’s later in life.
Working out might be hard right now, but the human body was made to move. Yet today we find ourselves at home sitting in front of screens, hardly moving at all. The truth is, working out is about much more than looking good or loosing fat. It’s also about feeling good, being healthy and finding the energy to go through the rest of your day happily. Not finding enough energy to be working from home? Studies suggest that regular exercise can even make us perform better at work – by increasing our productivity and helping us make better decisions.
Decide to learn new skills
YouTube, again, is an amazing source for that. You could also go on MasterClass and there’s also a Skillshare. All three of those platforms have a ton of videos and things that you can learn and you’re going to come out of this when this all ends feeling accomplished and fulfilled.
Do a Virtual Happy Hour!
You can’t go out with your friends now, but it does not mean you cannot meet virtually. Meet your friends on Facetime, WhatsApp, Zoom or any other video conferencing platform. Make sure to really set this time aside, put the time you are going to meet on all of your calendars or have a virtual happy hour at 5:30 on Friday. Toast virtually and catch up. It will make you feel really nice to connect and see different people aside from the ones you are currently sharing the quarantine with.
This time is not easy for anyone and there’s no right way to feel and react to the changing world. All we know and all we can do is make sure to stay home, practice social distancing and take care of ourselves. We hope you enjoy these 6 things you can do while staying at home!
